My Favorite George Carlin Quotes. Goodbye Old Man.
George Carlin died today. I have to stop my work and write something about him. I own to this man and other comedians like Lenny Bruce who had went through enormous trouble improving the freedom of speech, without much gratitude. When we talk about political topics like Freedom, we always thinks about politicians like Gandhi or King jr, and we easily neglects the court jester whom have outspoken more than all other politicians combine. When we talk about philosophy, we talk about writers like Hobbes or Nietzsche. And we easily forget comedians like George Carlin whom question everything in this world, from God to school buses.
One thing I like much about George Carlin is not his logical political incorrectness, out spoken truth, nor excellent hummer, but he never changed his materials or performances, even when they were arresting him while his performance, again and again. Even after US high court ruled that his “Seven Words You Can Never Say on Television” is indecent, he refused to give up the materials. And I heard him saying exactly those seven words in his last stand-up on HBO.
He was schedule to receive Mark Twain Prize for American Humor this year, but looks like he didn’t cared about it that much. Goodbye old man. You made me laugh. Most of all, you made me think.
George Carlin on Death
George Carlin on Religion
George Carlin on Saving the Planet
Thou Shall Keep Thy Religion to Thyself – Carlin on Ten Commandments
George Carlin on White People
George Carlin on God (Touch by an Angel)
George Carlin on American War
George Carlin and his Classic Seven Words, that went all the way to high court
